Winter BWO on the L Sac…
It’s wintertime and when we are not chasing steelhead on the nearby Trinity River you can find us on the Lower Sac River casting tiny flies to very big trout. Winter bwo time!
The hatch has been prolific this week and you will start seeing the duns around 12-3pm each day. The cloudy or foggy overcast days being the best conditions.
We have been getting good numbers of big trout under the dry/dropper and even a few noses on the surface sipping dry flies. Deep water indicator fishing is more steady and consistent - but the dry/dropper game has been the most fun!
If you want to get out for some winter trout fishing this month contact me asap… otherwise consider a late winter stlhd trip in February.
