Spring Fly Fishing

Spring is here and the two primary fisheries we are spending time on right now are:

Lower Sacramento River for large wild trout & Shasta Lake for for bass!

The Lower Sac has been fishing VERY good since the flows have increased to 10,000cfs! These wild rainbow trout love big water and it has been a couple years since we have seen the river at this flow. I’ve missed the big water, too, and I have missed running the looong drifts. May and June are going to be awesome on the Lower Sac so don’t miss out and get a hold of me asap to reserve some dates…

Shasta Lake bass fishing has been red-hot lately and this is where I spend my days off fishing. It is Go-Time right now folks. If you have never experienced bass on a fly rod then you have been missing out on one of the greatest gamefish experiences there is. And, bass are a very well distributed species of fish… virtually every County in CA has some bass water somewhere whether it’s a local pond, lake or creek. So come let me show you some of the techniques we use to catch these powerful and aggressive eaters… they love to crush subsurface fly patterns and topwater action will rival any dry fly experience you have ever had with trout. Bass fishing is a lot of fun!
