Summer-Run Steelhead in the Trinity River…

Steelheading in July???

Yes… IYKTYK… and I am certainly not trying to sell it.

So when I had the opportunity to take the kiddo out last Wednesday - we went and floated our favorite beat. We have not had much time to fish together this summer.

We had the drift pretty much to ourselves and saw next to nobody all day long. She hooked a few great memories with me and we had ourselves quite a day.

For fans of the Trinity River and steelhead fishing… for us weirdos that never stop thinking about these zany creatures - there are literally opportunities to catch these fish. Every. Month. Of the year… on the Trinity River.

Keep an eye on water temps (this season it has not been an issue yet on the upper river) and dress for warm/hot afternoons (hot sun is intense). Go early and then go swimming and be done by mid afternoon.
