Spring Trout Fishing…

Still have a little over a week before the official start of Spring Season but you wouldn’t know it if you looked out my window right now (It’s on the verge of snowing in Redding, Ca) [ BUT ] Spring Season will be soon be upon us!

What a crazy Winter Season we have had this 2022/2023 year. It’s been colder than average since Thanksgiving and we have received a solid amount of precipitation thus far. What has impressed me the most is our snowpack is around 154% of “normal” with some regions in CA much, much higher than that. This wet winter was sorely needed.

Anxious to get on with Spring Season and look forward to those classic bluebird days with giant popcorn white clouds in the sky. I am anticipating floating the green water of the Lower Sacramento River in the drift boat and hooking big, fat, strong wild rainbow trout all day long.
